This is the western part of the feature. The soil is still similar to how it always seems to be in the cistern. 5 bags were recovered, 7 liters of stones (one quite large). Finds here were quite numerous and interesting as we found a white type of Hellenistic pottery and some sort of shells that we haven’t found earlier on this year. A black shard of very high quality also came to light, probably originating in the 5th century BC. 6 bones (4 of the being fragments), 80 pottery shards were also found, while about as many tiles came up (mass wise). Other finds includes 6 bones (4 being very fragmentary).
The most notable find of this layer was a white Hellenistic wine jug
