After removing blocks 4 and 5, the whole room D is excavated down to the level where the 2007 excavation halted. At this level, the room is divided into 5 new blocks (7-11), of which block 8 comprise the SW part. As a floor level are likely to soon appear, the excavation is carefully done in a thin layer down to a level where soil seems to be harder. 16/5:Soil contains more bones than surrounding blocks. A concentration of charcoal, cotaining some rather large pieces, is found in N part of H24. A complete bronze nail is found in W part of H24. Soil sample is taken from G24.At the border between F24/G24, next to wall 47, a concentration of large, well preserved fragments of tiles and possibly also some storage amphoraes are found. The material is soon proved to come from a small rectangular feature, similar to feature 13 but smaller, situated against wall 47 in units F24-23. The feature, labeled feature 17, is measured and excavated as block 25. In H25-G25 a concentration of stones, forming an approximate half-circle, resting against S wall of room D is exposed. This feature, labeled feature 19, might have a connection with the drain, block 6/feature 16. 19/5: cleaning wall and features.
