The top of the block consisted mainly of very large tile fragments (for measurements see tiles in concentration next page). The tiles did not come from the inside the hole/'canal', but around it. Only a few cobbles but more pebbles. In the north/western part of the block the soil had only a few finds and the soil was more yellow, we took a munsell 10 YR/yellowish brown 5/6. Towards the eastern part there were more finds. The only thing supporting the hole for the hole/'canal' was a piece of tile. A rope was tied around the tile and it was pulled up out of the cistern. It appeared to be a huge piece of sima, perhaps with decoration. Among the finds there was a small piece of tile with a greenish surface colour. This was saved as terra cotta object as it shows what happens when the burning process of the tile goes wrong. There were compared to all the previous blocks very little finds. 3 soil samples + 1 green bucket + 1 green bag. The interesting part now is the tunnel going east, especially the size and the structure of it. However extreme safety precautions must now be taken especially after removing the big tile supporting the hole into the tunnel.
