The work of taking down the baulk towards Area I003 was begun. Block 8 is the top soil of the baulk, which at the western end actually includes a square metre (Unit L15) that had been left within I003. Worn tile fragments were common and part of a flat, round loom-weight was found. In the baulk, the top of an E-W wall, Wall 72, was exposed; its corner is connecting with a wall (W73) going N-S in Block 7.
