The surface layer of Block 8 is on a slightly higher level than that of Block 7 and the soil is harder in texture. As in most of the previous blocks, finds are few and mixed with modern material. The crude fragment of a terracotta object may be part of an antefix or other architectural feature. An outcrop of bedrock (the flaky type, slate?) saw daylight in the eastern part of the block and along the SE scarp is the top of a substantial wall (W113). The top of large stone blocks or bedrock can be seen along the NW side, next to Wall 108.
