As in Block 24 above, the object was to excavate the floor level that constitute Blocks 16 and 19 next to Wall 116. The finds were few, however. Some small shell fragments were collected, mostly from the area close to Blocks 16 and 19. In this area were also some small lime pellets, which should suggest that these are the scanty remains of the same floor. One of the few pottery fragments have incised decoration typical of late antique pottery(!), but it was found next to Wall 115 which was exposed during Wiede's excavation. It is therefore likely that the sherd ended up here only 100 years ago. In the other far end of the block, the colour of the soil is still the reddish Munsell 7.5YR 5/6 Strong brown.
